On 10 November, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly with the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Chile in Sweden held a seminar on business opportunities in Chile and other Latin American countries.

The non-resident Ambassador of Chile to Latvia, José Goñi Carrasco, and the Trade Commissioner of the Export Promotion Bureau of Chile, Evelyn Rakos, presented opportunities offered by Chile and the Latin American region – a market largely unexplored by Latvian businesses.

Andris Veinbergs, Member of the Board of a logistics company, “Sonora RW”, shared his successful experience of cooperation with Chile, while also highlighting the practical aspects of exports to Chile, including transit costs, language skills and different time zones.

Jeļena Razdorova, a business development manager at “X-Infotech”, told the audience about her company’s positive experience of cooperation with Latin American countries; she noted one of the main success factors – finding of a local representative and establishing a permanent representation in Latin America.

The seminar brought together more than 45 businessmen from various sectors.
