The Foreign Ministry invites to an expert discussion on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) agreement between the EU and the USA

At 9.30 on 25 May, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host an expert discussion on negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) agreement between the EU and the USA.

A special focus will be placed on the state of affairs and next steps in TTIP negotiations, provisions on support for small and medium-sized companies, regulatory cooperation, challenges and desired benefits in the agricultural sector, including food safety rules, and other matters related to TTIP negotiations.

10.30 – 11.10  Renita Bhaskar, Head of the U.S. and Canada Unit, DG TRADE, European Commission: State of play of TTIP negotiations, next steps and challenges. Rules to ensure support for small and medium-sized enterprises, regulatory cooperation.

11.10 – 11.50  Brian Kilgallen, Policy Officer at DG SANTE, European Commission, and TTIP Negotiator on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS): Standards for food safety and animal and plant health.
