"Latvia and Peru must become better acquainted with each other, therefore more active exchange of information is necessary," stressed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Mr. Valdis Birkavs during the meeting with Ambassador of Peru to Latvia Mr. Eduardo Llosa Larrabure on February 15. The Minister confirmed interest of Latvia to develop relations with this country. He invited Peru politicians, representatives of business and cultural fields travelling to the Nordic countries to visit Latvia as well and evaluate themselves the opportunities provided by this dynamic Baltic region.
The Minister and the Ambassador were unanimous that both countries should appoint their honorary consuls to develop and deepen bilateral relations, as well as elaboration of bilateral agreements must be concluded.
Mr. Eduardo Llosa Larrabure has arrived to Riga on his accreditation visit. He is already the second ambassador of Peru to Latvia residing in Stockholm.
