As from 7 October, the duties of the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are assumed by Ambassador Kārlis Eihenbaums.
Until now, Kārlis Eihenbaums was the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Estonia and before that – to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the State of Israel. Ambassador Eihenbaums has also worked as Permanent Representative of Latvia to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague and held the position of the Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President of Latvia.
Kārlis Eihenbaums began his career with the foreign service in 1993 as Director of the Western Europe Department. He has also been Director of the First Bilateral Relations Department and the America Department, as well as working at the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the United Kingdom.
