Full-time and exchange programme students in India can submit Long Stay (D) visa applications through five VFS VACs in Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kochi starting with 17th of August 2020.

Until regular flights between India and Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh resume, applicants from these countries CANNOT apply for a Long Stay visa.

Please wait patiently for the further announcements by the Embassy on the resumption of Long Stay visa services for Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Bangladeshi nationals.

According to the Immigration Law of Latvia, students from the third countries (except nationals of these countries) who are enrolled into education institutions accredited in Latvia can apply for the long stay visa at the diplomatic and consular representations of Latvia in the third countries. After receiving a long stay visa (valid for 90 days), upon entering Latvia, students are subjected to apply for a residence permit at the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia (OCMA).

Starting from August 2019 ALL applicants applying for a Long Stay visa with a purpose ''studies in Latvia'' are subjected to a visa support document verification with service provider Hello Verify India Private Limited.

Step by step guidelines, as well as document submission for verification, are available on http://visa.helloverify.com. Please note that document verification should be done prior to visa application submission at the VFS Global Latvia. NB! Without Hello Verify transaction number, appointment for visa application submission at VFS WILL NOT be granted.

Applicants with purpose of studying in Latvia are requested to book an appointment for submission of the visa application and video/in person interview at the VFS Global Latvia visa application centres in India by contacting the call centre at +91 22 67866025.
