On 21 November, Ambassador of Latvia Iveta Šulca met with the Ambassador Reda Bebars - Adviser to the Minister for Investment and International Cooperation, General Secretary of Egypt and the European Union Association Agreement to discuss cooperation between Latvia and Egypt.
Both sides discussed the possibility of holding a joint committee meeting in accordance with the Agreement on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Latvia and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, signed on 12 October 1994. The Committee should define the sectors of shared interests and agree on the implementation of the cooperation activities.
During the meeting, Ambassador I. Šulca and Assistant Minister R.Bebars agreed to organize Egyptian business mission to Latvia in 2019.
Both sides expressed satisfaction that the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones are preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation to facilitate investment promotion and business missions.
