The Embassy of Latvia in Denmark, in cooperation with the Danish Cultural Institute (DKI) in Latvia and Danish National Film Institute "Cinemateket", is hosting the Baltic Film Festival “Baltic Frames” that take place from 7 to 19 May 2019.
"Baltic Frames" film festival gives the Danish audience a rare insight into the wide range of contemporary Baltic films, thus raising the awareness of the diversity of the Baltic region. The film festival is organized for the fourth consecutive year and, alongside documentary films, also includes the latest art films from the Baltic countries. Last year, the festival program was part of the centenary celebration of the Baltic countries in Denmark.
This year, "Baltic Frames" has a strong Latvian film profile. The festival opened on May 7 with the legendary Latvian director Herc Frank's 1978 short film "Ten Minutes Older", as well as Dāvis Sīmanis' film "The Mover". The Embassy, in cooperation with the Danish Cultural Institute, had invited director Dāvis Sīmanis to the film screening. After the film, the director told about the filmmaking process and answered the questions from the audience.
Baltic Film Days in Denmark is part of Latvia’s Centenary programme of public diplomacy, coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
