From 23-25 September 2020, Latvian seaports of Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja, together with Latvian Railways participated on-line in the 15th China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair in Shenzhen (CILF). It is the first major international event dedicated to logistics and supply chain cooperation held on-site and on-line in 2020 in China.
This year CILF focused on three main themes: digital empowerment, intelligent innovation, ecological integration. On 23 September 2020, the Counsellor of the Ministry of Transport of Latvia at the Embassy of Latvia in China delivered a keynote speech on behalf of the Latvian ports and transport logistics enterprises at the 9th China World Port Summit. After the summit, Freeport of Riga, Freeport of Ventspils and Liepaja Special Economic Zone joined the digital signing of the Shenzhen Declaration on deepening strategic cooperation of intelligent ports to jointly build and govern ecosystem of global port and shipping supply chains.
On 24 September 2020, LDZ Logistics participated with the on-line presentation in the 5th Sea-Rail Transport & Cross-border Transportation Forum. At the forum, participants shared the latest information on China-Europe container train developments, the influences and analysis of the operation status under the COVID-19 epidemic situation. Latvian Railways subsidiary LDZ Logistics introduced container block train developments, highlighted railway routes to and from Latvia, and introduced cooperation opportunities.
