Latvia and Suzhou have been actively developing close relationship in the fields of trade, business and culture for the past three decades. In 1997 capital city of Latvia - Riga and Suzhou became sister cities, that has even further extended very close and friendly ties between Riga and Suzhou.
Suzhou and Riga both are cities with long history and magnificent culture, at the same time both of them have a focus on business and innovation.
On 4th November Ambassador of Latvia Ms. Maija Manika met Vice Mayor of Suzhou Mr. Yang Zhiping to discuss further cooperation between Latvia and Suzhou.
After the meeting Vice-Mayor and Ambassador witnessed an MOU signing ceremony between Riga Varnish and Paint Factory (RILAK) and Suzhou Gold Mantis Cultural Development Ltd.. RILAK is among the largest manufacturers of paints and varnishes in the Baltic States with a history and experience reaching back more than one hundred years. Suzhou Gold Mantis Cultural Development Ltd. Is one of the market leaders in commercial space renovation business. Both companies think that this new cooperation will be mutually beneficial to their businesses and will further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Latvia and China.
