Documents required for applying for Schengen visa

 

Amendments in the Agreements between the Government of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet Ministers  of Ukraine On mutual visits  of citizens 

• From 16th of January 2009, holders of Ukrainian service passports may enter and stay in the territory of the Republic of Latvia without visa up to 90 days during a half of year.
• From 16 of January 2009, citizens of Ukraine are fully waived from the state fee for the long term visa applications.

For members of official delegations

For business people and representatives of business organisations

For drivers conducting international cargo and passenger transportation services in vehicles registered in Ukraine

For train, refrigerator and locomotive crews in international trains

For journalists (not freelances)

For persons participating in scientific, cultural and artistic activities, including university and other exchange programmes

For pupils, students, post-graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips fort he purposes of study or educational training, including in the framework of exchange programmes as well as other school related activities

For participants in international sports events and persons accompanying them in a professional capacity

For participants in official exchange programs organised by twin cities

For close relatives visiting citizens of Ukraine legally residing in the territory of the Member States

For relatives visiting burial ceremonies

For visiting military and civil burial grounds

For visiting for medical reasons

For members of official delegations

You are requested to hand in the following documents:

• Completed application form
• Recent passport-sized photography (coloured, 35x45 mm)
• Passport with a validity exceeding three months after your scheduled return and it should contain at least two empty visa pages
• Photocopy of passport, previous visas and stamps
• Interior passport and photocopy
• Travel insurance covering Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro if not mentioned in a letter or note for:

1. Urgent Medical Treatment
2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

For the multiply visa travel insurance should be applied only for the first trip.

Purpose of the trip 

• An official invitation addressed to Ukraine (a copy may be provided, original is not necessary)
• An original letter or note issued by an Ukrainian authority confirming that the applicant is a member of its delegation travelling to the other Party to participate at the aforementioned events

For business people and representatives of business organisations

You are requested to hand in the following documents:

• Recent passport-sized photography (coloured, 35x45 mm)

• Travel insurance covering Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro for:

1. Urgent medical treatment
2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

For the multiply visa travel insurance should be applied only for the first trip.

Purpose of the trip 

• An invitation approved by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia

or

• A written original request from a host legal person or company, or an office or a branch of such legal person or company, state and local authorities of the Member States or organising committees of trade and industrial exhibitions, conferences and symposia held in the territories of the Member States

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine (i.e. professional background, family etc.)

• Proof of employment (for employer –a recent employer's statement, for private businessmen – a certificate of registration of the company)

Evidence of your financial means

• A recent bank account statement ( last 3 months)  or traveller's cheques for at least 15 EUR per day (can be different amount for the other countries) or credit card with withdrawn, or host company guarantees to cover all costs

Purpose of the trip

• A written original request from the national Association of carriers of Ukraine (AsMAP) providing for international road transportation, stating the purpose, duration and frequency of the trips and that the vehicle is registered in Ukraine

Evidence of your financial means

• Commitment of the Ukrainian or host company to cover all costs associated with the trip

Foreigners residing in Ukraine

• Residence permit + work permit

For train, refrigerator and locomotive crews in international trains

 

You are requested to hand in the following documents:

• Completed application form
• Recent passport sized photography (coloured, 35x45 mm)

• Photocopy of passport, previous visas and stamps
• Interior passport and photocopy
• Travel insurance covering Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro for:

• A written request from the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine ("Ukrzaliznytsia")

• Commitment of the Ukrainian company to cover all costs associated with the trip

  For journalists (not freelances)

You are requested to hand in the following documents:

• Interior passport and photocopy
• Travel Medical insurance covering Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro for:

1. Urgent medical treatment
2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

For the multiply visa travel insurance should be applied only for the first trip.

Purpose of the trip

• An original certificate or other document issued by a professional organisation (National Union of Journalists of Ukraine) proving that the person concerned is a qualified journalist and a document issued by his/her employer stating that the purpose of the journey is to carry out journalistic work
• A document issued by his/her employer stating that the purpose of the journey is to carry out journalistic work

Evidence of your financial means

• A written original request from host organisation to participate in those activities (with list of participants, information about duration of the programme and which side covers costs of the visit)

Evidence of your return to Ukraine ( i.e. professional background, family etc.)

• document proving employment or membership in Ukrainian scientific, cultural, artistic organization that is taking a part in a programme

Evidence of your financial means (except full paid programmes)      

• A recent bank account statement or traveller's cheques for at least 15 EUR/45 EUR  per day (can be different amount for the other countries) or credit card with withdrawn, unless host organization guarantees to cover all costs

Minors that are not accompanied by both parents

• Notarized parental consent
• Birth certificate

Foreigners residing in Ukraine

• Residence permit + work permit

For pupils, students, post-graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips fort he purposes of study or educational training, including in the framework of exchange programmes as well as other school related activities

Purpose of the trip

• An invitation approved by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia

or

• A written original request or a certificate of enrolment from the host university, college or school or certificates of the courses to be attended (with information about type, duration of the studies and who covers the costs)
• A student card from host university, college or school

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine

• Letter of support from educational institution in Ukraine and student's book (in case of students)           

Evidence of your financial means (except full paid scholarship holders and government exchange programmes)

• A recent bank account statement or traveller's cheques for at least 15 EUR per day (can be different amount for the other countries) or credit card with withdrawn, unless host organization guarantees to cover all costs

Minors that are not accompanied by both parents

• Notarized parental consent
• Birth certificate

2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

For the multiply visa travel insurance should be applied only for the first trip.

Purpose of the trip

• An invitation approved by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia

or

• A written original request from the host organisation: competent authorities, national sport Federations and National Olympic Committees of the Member States (stating the name of the tournament, dates and duration of tournament, name of invited club/team, list of participants including year of birth, position of participant)

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine (i.e. professional background)

• Document that the applicant is a sportsman/woman and member of a sport organization   

Evidence of your financial means

• Documentation that travel expenses and accommodation are covered, unless host organization guarantees to cover all costs   

Minors, which are not accompanied by both parents

• Notarized parental consent
• Birth certificate

Foreigners residing in Ukraine

• Residence permit + work permit

For participants in official exchange programs organised by twin cities

Purpose of the trip

• An invitation approved by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia

• An invitation from the Head of Administration/Mayor of the host city (activities with list of participants, information about duration of the programme and which side covers costs of the visit)

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine (i.e. professional background, family etc.)

• Letter of support from municipal authority stating the list of participants
• Work certificate

Evidence of your financial means

• A recent bank account statement or traveller's cheques for at least 15 EUR per day (can be different amount for the other countries) or credit card with withdrawn, unless host organization guarantees to cover all costs

Minors that are not accompanied by both parents

• Notarized parental consent

2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

Purpose of the trip

• A written original request from the host person (the authenticity of the signature of the inviting person must be proved by the competent authority according to the national legislation of the country of residence)
• Document proving the relationship (i.e. marriage certificate, birth certificate…)

• Photocopy of residence permit

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine ( i.e. professional background, family etc.)

• (If you work or study) Work certificate / certificate from study institution, for private businessmen – a certificate of registration of the company

Evidence of your financial means

• Passport with a validity exceeding three months after your scheduled return and it should contain at least two empty visa pages
• Photocopy of passport, previous visas and stamps
• Interior passport and photocopy
• Travel insurance covering Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro for:

1. Urgent medical treatment
2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

For the multiply visa travel insurance should be applied only for the first trip.

Purpose of the trip

• Original official document confirming the fact of death
• Document confirming the family or other relationship between the applicant and the buried (e.g. birth or/and marriage certificate)

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine ( i.e. professional background, family etc.)

• (If you work or study) Work certificate / certificate from study institution, for private businessmen – a certificate of registration of the company

Evidence of your financial means

• A recent bank account statement or traveller's cheques for at least 15 EUR per day (can be different amount for the other countries) or credit card with withdrawn

• Recent passport sized photography (coloured, 35x45 mm)
• Passport with a validity exceeding three months after your scheduled return and it should contain at least two empty visa pages
• Photocopy of passport, previous visas and stamps
• Interior passport and photocopy
• Travel insurance covering Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro for:

1. Urgent medical treatment
2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

For the multiply visa travel insurance should be applied only for the first trip.

Purpose of the trip

• Original official document confirming the existence and preservation of the grave
• Document confirming the family or other relationship between the applicant and the buried (birth or/and marriage certificate).            

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine ( i.e. professional background, family etc.)

• (If you work or study) Work certificate / certificate from study institution, for private businessmen – a certificate of registration of the company
• Return flight/bus reservation, if you travel with car, photocopy of green card, driving license and technical passport

Evidence of your financial means

Minors that are not accompanied by both parents

• Interior passport and photocopy
• Travel insurance covering Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro for:

1. Urgent medical treatment
2. Emergency admission to hospital
3. Repatriation

For the multiply visa travel insurance should be applied only for the first trip.

 

Evidence of destination:

• An invitation approved by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia

or

• Original official document of the medical institution from the host country confirming necessity of medical care in this institution with information on the duration of stay and estimated costs of the treatment
• Proof of sufficient financial means to pay for the medical treatment 

Evidence of your will to return to Ukraine:

• (If you work or study) Work certificate / certificate from study institution, for private businessmen – a certificate of registration of the company

Evidence of your financial means:

• A recent bank account statement or traveller's cheques for at least 45 EUR per day (can be different amount for the other countries) or credit card with withdrawn, unless host organization guarantees to cover all costs  

Minors that are not accompanied by both parents

• Notarized parental
• Birth certificate
