Latvia's Ambassador, Elita Kuzma, presents her credentials to the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf [30 Nov 2005]

On 30 November 2005, the new Ambassador of Latvia to Sweden, Elita Kuzma, presented her credentials to the King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. During the accreditation ceremony, Ms Kuzma was accompanied by the Latvian Embassy's diplomatic corps.

On 29 November, the Latvian Ambassador met with the Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laila Freivalds. During the friendly discussion, the Swedish Foreign Minister stated her satisfaction and approval regarding the Latvian Foreign Minister Artis Pabriks' official visit to Sweden, scheduled for spring of 2006. Ms Freivalds expressed her country's support for building a common EU policy with respect to Russia and for involving Russia in closer regional cooperation, a policy that is in Latvia's interests. Speaking on the areas of bilateral relationship between Sweden and Latvia, the parties agreed to deal with the issues of current concern in an open and constructive way that is characteristic of dialogue between Nordic countries.
