On 30 November 2003 representatives of six book publishing houses from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania were received by Latvia's Ambassador to Sweden Artis Bertulis in the Embassy in Stockholm. They had come to Sweden to discuss professional matters with representatives of the country's best-known publishers and companies trading in books.

The week-long event was organised by the Swedish company Natur och Kultur in cooperation with the Swedish Institute, which also provided funding for the trip. All of the participants were selected by the host organisations.

Latvia was represented by Renate Punka from Jana Rozes publishing house and Ingrida Vaverniece from "Daugava" publishing house.
