Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins expresses deepest condolences with regard to earthquake in central Italy [06 Apr 2009]

Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins has sent a letter to the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Franco Frattini, with regard to the earthquake in central Italy. Latvian—Italian foreign ministry political consultations to take place [22 Jan 2009]

On 23 January political consultations between the foreign ministries of Latvia and Italy will be held in Riga. Representing Latvia, Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andris Teikmanis will chair the consultations, whereas the head of the Italian delegation will be Alfredo Mantica, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy. Convention between Latvia and Italy on the avoidance of double taxation comes into effect [16 Jun 2008]

On 16 June, during the meeting between the Ambassador of Latvia to Italy, Astra Kurme and Valerio Augusto Astraldi, Minister Plenipotentiary, Head of the Diplomatic, Legal and Contractual Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, the instruments of ratification were exchanged for The Convention between the Government of the Republic of Latvia and the Government of the Republic of Italy for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, and for the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion, and its Protocol, as well as for the 2004 amendments to the Convention and its Protocol.
