On 27 February the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Czech Republic hosted a launch of the volume of the magazine Země světa (“Countries of the World”) devoted to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The volume has been published in order to promote Baltic countries as a popular and attractive tourist destination as well as it highlighted the centenary of all the states which is celebrated in 2018. The Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia H.E. Mr Alberts Sarkanis, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania H.E. Mr Edvilas Raudonikis and the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia H.E. Mr Sten Schwede expressed their gratitute to the editor-in-chief Mrs Miluše Žáková and to authors of articles and graphic design who took part in the successful preparation of the volume. Members of the Czech-Latvian Club Josef Miškovský, Pavel Štoll, Naďa Vaverová and also Jaromír Adamec wrote texts about Latvia. “Geo-Bohemia” printed the magazine in a circulation of 20 000 copies (72 pages) in Czech language.
The event is a part of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Centennial programme.
