On 15 June the Embassy of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Island, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway and Sweden jointly celebrated their national days in the Prague New Town Hall. This initiative of Baltic and Nordic countries has already become a pleasant and wideranging tradition.
The Ambassadors held a joint speech in which they pointed out this traditional Baltic and Nordic National Days’ celebration took place in Prague for the tenth time. The joint celebration is a symbol of Baltic and Nordic close relations as well as an excellent and broad cooperation with the Czech Republic. Particular attention must be paid to the programme of Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 and its 17 goals for building and maintaining a society of prosperity which is already being implemented and emphasized by the Nordic States and their governements.
A large number of guests representatives of the Czech state and society, businessmen, foreign diplomats and diaspora members attended the event. Guests’ attention was also attracted by refreshment tables with national treats and beverages. The Embassy of Latvia in the Czech Republic offered Valmiermuiža biscuits and Skrīveru saldumi candies this year.
