The establishment of the Culture Centre of Latvia in Prague was initiated by Ambassador Aija Odina and was opened on 15 November 1998. The Center contains about 2050 items including books, audio and videocassettes, DVD's and CD's – mostly with works of Latvian authors and information about Latvia in Latvian, as well as in English, Russian, Czech and other languages. The Center offers information about cultural events in Latvia and activities connected with Latvia in the Czech Republic.
