Latvia enjoys friendly relations with New Zealand. Nevertheless, both Latvia and New Zealand are aware of the role of small countries in global politics.
Within the framework of the World Trade Organisation and, especially, prior to Latvia's joining the WTO in 1999, co-operation between Latvia and New Zealand was quite natural.
