Relations between Latvia and the Republic of El Salvador [15 Aug 2007]

Diplomatic relations

The Republic of El Salvador recognised the independence of the Republic of Latvia on 25 September 1992.

On 11 January 2001, a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of El Salvador was signed in New York.

On 12 March 2002, H.E. Mr Byron Fernando Larios Lopez, resident in Stockholm, was accredited as the first Ambassador of El Salvador to the Republic of Latvia.

On 14 March 2006, H.E. Mr Martin Rivera Gómez was accredited as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of El Salvador to Latvia.

Investment

As of 8 August 2007, El Salvador had made no investment in the equity of Latvian-registered companies registered, and no Latvian - El Salvador joint ventures were listed with the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia.[1]
