EU-Bolivia relations
Bolivia is one of the five member countries of the Andean Community (the other four are Ecuador, Peru, Columbia and Venezuela) which co-operate with the EU both in the regional aspect - in economy, culture, social issues, environment, health, integration and other issues, as well as in the international aspect - foreign policy, trade, science and research, education and experience exchange.
In 1992, the first official agreement was signed between the Andean Community and the EU. To intensify co-operation between the two blocs of countries, a Agreement on Political Dialogue and Co-operation between the EU and the Andean Community was signed on 15 December 2003 in Rome. This agreement provides for a more active and dynamic dialogue between the EU and the Andean Community on the issues of peace and security, social and political stability, democratic governance, immigration and trade co-operation.
