Co-operation among the Baltic States
The co-operation of the Baltic states constitutes the following institutional frameworks – the Baltic Assembly, the Baltic Council of Ministers and the Baltic Council. The parliamentary co-operation takes place within the Baltic Assembly, but all matters related to the practical co-operation are being dealt within the format of the Baltic Council of Ministers. The Baltic Council is a joint body for governments and parliaments.

Baltic and Nordic cooperation

As global economic and political integration proceeds, regional cooperation is assuming greater importance. The Baltic Sea Region has become one of the most dynamic in Europe, and with enlargement of the European Union its strategic importance is also increasing. The region embodies great potential for economic development.
