On 11th May HOMSA Europe 2 Group hosted a charity event with the motto “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” (Aesop) at the Embassy of Poland in Ottawa, Canada. Ms Ināra Eihenbauma, the spouse of the Ambassador of Latvia to Canada, is one of the leaders of HOMSA Europe 2 group and was the master of ceremonies of the event.
All proceeds of this event are going to support the First Nations organisation Beendingen, Anishinabe Women’s Crises Home and Family Healing Agency (www.beendingen.com). Ms Valerie Galley Bellegarde, the spouse of Perry Bellegarde, the National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations was present at the event. Valerie Galley Bellegarde truly supported the efforts of the spouses of the foreign diplomats. The charity event is supporting Beendigen’s Prenatal Programme, as many urban Indigenous women do not receive adequate prenatal education or care. The Beendigen programme offers both pre and postnatal care with the goal of helping to produce healthy babies with mothers and fathers who have the education and support for successful parenting.
