Latvia establishes diplomatic relations with Grenada
On 19 September, in New York, diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Latvia and Grenada.
A Joint Communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations between both countries was signed, on behalf of Latvia, by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Normans Penke, and, on behalf of Grenada, by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Dessima M. Williams.
The ambassadors of both countries expressed satisfaction at the establishing of diplomatic relations that will promote bilateral relations and cooperation in the framework of international organizations. The ambassadors discussed political, economic and cultural development of both countries, the possibilities for developing bilateral cooperation in those spheres, as well as within the United Nations, and exchanged views on the issues on the agenda of the UN.
