Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins to take part at EU foreign ministers meeting in Spain [05 Mar 2010]

Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will attend the Informal Meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Ministers, to be held in Cordoba, Spain, on 5–6 March.

The ministers will discuss the establishment of the EU External Action Service, the situation regarding the Middle East peace process, and EU relations with China, India and Brazil. During a luncheon with EU candidate countries, the participants are to review the situation in the Western Balkans.

The informal meetings of foreign ministers are held once during every EU Presidency.
