Foreign Minister to receive German Ambassador on farewell visit [04 Mar 2010]

On 4 March, Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will receive Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Latvia, Detlef Weigel, as part of his farewell visits.

During the meeting, the parties intend to discuss the prospects for bilateral relations between Latvia and Germany, institutional issues of the European Union, and current developments in international politics.

Mr Weigel took office as Ambassador to Latvia in August 2008. As of 8 March, Mr Weigel has been appointed Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Paris.
