Foreign Ministry State Secretary to take part in discussion on Ukraine following presidential election [14 Apr 2010] |

On 14 April in Hotel Bergs, Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andris Teikmanis will take part in a discussion "Ukraine's geopolitical course following the presidential election: internal and external aspects" which brings together Latvian, Ukrainian and other foreign analysts, academics and political technologists for a review of the political situation in Ukraine in the wake of the presidential election, as well as the country's foreign policy course. Mr Teikmanis has been invited to joint the debate during a session on Ukraine's political position between the East and the West. Also speaking at this session are professor of political science Oleksiy Haran from Kyiv, senior researcher for the Jamestown Foundation Vladimir Sokor, and associated professor of Tallinn EuroUniversity, Leonid Karabeshkin. The discussion is to take part in two sessions, the first of which will deal with Ukraine's political and economic stability. The discussion is organised by the Baltic-Black Sea Alliance in association with the Transatlantic Organisation of Latvia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
