European Commission expert Adolfo Sanchez arives to Latvia

On 3-4 September, an expert from the European Commission, Adolfo Sanchez, arrives on a working visit to Latvia.

The European Commission has launched an initiative which aims at aggregating the new European Union (EU) Member States' experience with political, economic and social reforms carried out during the transition period, so that this experience could be applied in the EU co-operation policy and would facilitate growth of the developing countries. 

During his visit, which is a part of this initiative, Mr Sanchez will meet with the Head of the Economic and Bilateral relations Directorate of the Foreign Ministry of Latvia, Ambassador Maija Manika, and with the staff of the Economic Relations and Development Co-operation Policy Department. The parties will discuss topics related to Latvia's experience with economic and political reforms during the transition period.

In Latvia, Mr Sanchez also intends to meet with experts from various sectors and representatives of NGOs.
