Foreign Ministry to host reception for World Association of Free Latvians (PBLA)

On 14 October, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host a reception dedicated to the annual Board meeting of the World Association of Free Latvians (PBLA).

Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins and Chairman of the PBLA Board, Martins Sausins will deliver official welcoming addresses to those present at the reception. Among the invitees, there are the PBLA Board members and the exile Latvians who have returned to live in Latvia, as well as representatives from the Saeima and the Government. Also invited to attend the event are 21 young Latvians who, through the Vitols Fund, have received the PBLA scholarships for studies at Latvia's universities.

The PBLA annual Board meeting will take place from 14 to 16 October in Riga.

The PBLA unites Latvian associations and organisations worldwide and has been successfully operating for more than 50 years.
