Irish Ambassador on farewell visit to Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins

On 10 July, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Latvia, Tim Mawe, who is the first resident Irish Ambassador to Latvia, will pay a farewell visit to Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins.

During the meeting, it is planned to review the topicalities of bilateral relations between Latvia and Ireland as well as the current issues on the European Union agenda.

During his term of office, Ambassador Mawe has facilitated the Latvia-Ireland political dialogue by ensuring exchanges of visits by senior officials. For the first time in the history of the relations between both countries, the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, visited Latvia. There was also a visit by the Irish Prime Minister and visits by ministers of various sectors.

The Ambasdsador of Ireland to Latvia, Tim Mawe was accredited in October 2005.
