Amendments to circulation of video surveillance cameras

The Strategic Goods Export Control Division of the Foreign Ministry informs that on 23 November 2009, amendments have entered into effect to Cabinet Regulations No. 645 of 25.09.2007. "Regulations on the List of National Strategic Goods and Services".

Cameras for video surveillance and video-documenting are wired or wireless cameras or television cameras (except cameras of cell phones and computers) disguised as other objects, or the size of which is 40 x 40 x 40 mm or less, or the size of which is 25 mm or less, or those, having a pinhole lens.

We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that on 15 April 2009, amendments entered into effect to the Law on Strategic Goods Circulation prohibiting physical persons to purchase, store or use equipment and devices for obtaining audio-information in a secret manner, equipment and devices for hidden video-surveillance or video-documenting, equipment and devices for secretly intercepting calls through analogue, digital or mobile telecommunications or obtaining other information from technical means or communications channels in a secret manner, equipment and devices for secret entering of premises, vehicles or other objects, as well as equipment and devices for interfering with the investigation field work. 

Legal persons, for their part, have the right to store, manufacture, transport, sell, service, and obtain licences for export, import, transit and relocation of all the above specified equipment, on the condition that they have obtained a special permit (licence) issued by the Ministry of Interior for commercial activity involving this equipment.
