Foreign Ministry Secretary of State Andris Teikmanis to visit the Middle East

The Secretary of State of the Foreign Ministry Andris Teikmanis is on a visit to the Middle East. As part of the visit, political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Latvia and Israel will be held on 1 November in Jerusalem. On 2 November in Ramallah, Mr Teikmanis will have a meeting at the Foreign Ministry of the Palestinian National Authority, but on 3 November in Amman – a meeting with officials from the Foreign Ministry of Jordan in order to discuss current issues and to sign the Protocol of the Foreign Ministries of Latvia and Jordan on the formation of a consultation mechanism.

During the meetings, the parties reviewed the topics of bilateral relations, economic co-operation and regional security, as well as the Middle East Peace Process and expanding relations with the European Union.
