The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Maris Riekstins, invites the Russian Federation not to delay providing official information on the nationality of the detained suspects.

"In view of the fact that the allegations by the Russian Federation officials regarding Latvian nationals being among the detainees have been made publicly known, along with the promises to provide information which we have not received as yet, I call on [the Russian Federation] to clarify whether any Latvian nationals have been involved in the case of The Arctic Sea freighter, and to disclose information on specific individuals in accordance with an internationally accepted practice," Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins indicates.
