Foreign Ministry to brief the media on travel abroad
On 22 May at 1 pm (Room 138), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will brief the media on what needs to be known when travelling abroad, and about the duties of Latvian consular officials and possibilities of helping Latvian residents abroad.
Representatives of the Ministry's Consular Department will provide information on the following: what needs to be taken into account when planning a trip abroad; what to do and where to look for help in case of difficulties; under what circumstances Latvian representations can and cannot help Latvian nationals.
Media representatives will also find out about the countries for which citizens of Latvia do not need visas; visa-free regimes and most noteworthy cases of consular assistance; statistical data will also be presented.
Media representatives will be briefed by Deputy Director of the Consular Department Uldis Simsons, Head of the Consular Assistance Division Sanda Silite-Galina, and Press Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Ivars Lasis.
