On 25 February the Latvian non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (South Korea) Peteris Vaivars attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected President of South Korea, Lee Myung-bak.

"South Korea is an important partner of Latvia in the East Asia region, and thus it is very important to develop relations with South Korea in politics, culture and especially the economic sphere. There are already representations of South Korean businesses in Latvia, such as Samsung and LG," highlighted the Latvian Ambassador.
