Latvian Ambassador presents letters of credence to French President

On 19 February, Ambassador Janis Karklins presented his credentials to President Nicolas Sarkozy of France.
The Ambassador and the President discussed issues of bilateral co-operation between Latvia and France, including a possible presidential visit to Latvia, priorities of the French presidency at the EU, and current international events.
Mr Karklins took up his official post in France in September 2007.
