From 7 February to 23d March, My Way, the exhibition by renowned Latvian painter Aija Zarina will be displayed at Museum Kampa in Prague. The exhibition will show Aija Zarina's recent paintings, which are still full of her strong spirit of idealism.

The initiator of exhibition is Argita Daudze, Ambassador of Latvia to the Czech Republic, who introduced Aija Zarina's works to Meda Mladek, founder of Prague's Kampa Museum and a famous Czech patroness of art.

The exhibition is being organized by the Latvian National Museum of Art, Museum Kampa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia and the Embassy of Latvia in the Czech Republic. The curator is Elita Ansone and the main sponsor is Rietuma Banka.

Aija Zarina became famous during the 1980s, when she violated the boundaries of Soviet art ideology by the emotional directness of her paintings. At that time her works were described as desperate, full of controversy and aggression; moreover, they were imbued with a strong undercurrent of female sexuality, which was not acceptable in a prejudiced society
