Seminar on the Treaty of Lisbon on May 7, 2008 in Riga

It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the seminar on the Treaty of Lisbon on May 7, 2008, Hotel Riga, 22, Aspazijas Boulevard,  Riga.

The seminar, organized by TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange unit) in co-operation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, aims to discuss practical aspects of the implementation of the Treaty of Lisbon. High level experts, lawyers, journalists and social partners will take part in the discussions.

The seminar consists of three panel discussions:

I Democratisation of the European Integration – Council – National Parliaments – European Parliament – Chances and Challenges of the new Subsidiarity Procedure

II Democratic Legitimacy and Organised Civil Society Participation

III Implications of the Treaty of Lisbon for new Members of the Schengen Area

The seminar will be held in English and Latvian (translation in both languages provided).
