Foreign Minister and Speaker of Lithuanian Seimas to discuss regional co-operation

On 25 April Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will meet with Ceslovas Jursenas, the Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas, to discuss bilateral co-operation, an EU strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, and issues related to the work of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS).

At the meeting, the officials also plan to consider energy issues, current events in international politics, including the ratification of the Treaty of Lisbon in both the Latvian and the Lithuanian parliament and the European Neighbourhood Policy.

Latvia and Lithuania have developed fruitful co-operation between parliaments, sector ministries, municipalities, and NGOs.
