Honorary Consulate opened in Indonesia to represent Latvia and assist Latvian nationals
On 20 April a Latvian Honorary Consulate was officially opened in Bandung, Indonesia.
The consular territory of Honorary Consul Dr Jahja Santoso will cover Bandung, West Java, and Bali. Dr Santoso has set as one of his key objectives the promotion of co-operation in pharmaceutical industry between Latvia and Indonesia.
Dr Jahja Santoso is also the president of SANBE FARMA, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical products, the president and founder of BSP (PT. Bina San Prima), a company which distributes health care and consumer products, and the proprietor of both Santosa Bandung International Hospital and the Holiday Inn hotel located in Bandung.
The activities of the Honorary Consulate are of great importance in representing Latvia in Indonesia, promoting bilateral co-operation in the economic sphere, and especially in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as in culture and education, and also providing assistance to Latvian nationals.
This is the second Honorary Consulate of Latvia to be opened in Indonesia, following the opening of an Honorary Consulate in Jakarta. More information on the Honorary Consulate in Jakarta is available at www.latvia.or.id.
