An informal meeting of the three Baltic state ministers of foreign affairs will take place in Latvia on 2 September at the initiative of Latvian Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins.
Minister Riekstins and his Lithuanian and Estonian counterparts, Petras Vaitiekunas and Urmas Paet, will review the position of the Baltic states on issues high on the foreign policy agenda prior to an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Avignon on 5 and 6 September, as well as a Nordic and Baltic state foreign minister meeting in Parnu on 8 to 9 September.
Media representatives are welcome to attend a joint press conference of the three Baltic state foreign ministers to take place in the VIP room of the airport "Riga" on 2 September at 6.50 pm. Please register participation in advance with the Foreign Ministry Press Centre by telephone 67016272 before 5 pm.
