Sandra Kalniete and Museum of Occupation to receive the annual award of Western European Ethics and Culture Foundation in Switzerland
On 29 September, in the Zurich Tonhalle concert hall, Sandra Kalniete and the founders of the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia will receive the award from the Western European Ethics and Culture Foundation (Stiftung für Abendländishe Ethik und Kultur) for their contribution to raising awareness of Latvia's history and for the promotion of the image of the country.
The Foundation aims at attracting the attention of the Swiss and global community to individuals and projects, which promote historical awareness and reinforce ethical traditions thus safeguarding the consolidation of the European culture.
The Latvian Ambassador Aivars Groza, representatives from the Latvian community in Switzerland, supporters to Latvian – Swiss co-operation, and other guests will take part in the event. As part of the award ceremony, Latvian musician Valdis Muktupavels will give his performance and introduce the audience to the traditional Latvian music.
