Exhibition in Berlin of works by students of Latvian Academy of Art
On 9 March 2007, the Berlin art union Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst (NGBK) will open a contemporary art exhibition of the works by students of the Latvian Academy of Art. It is entitled RigaREVIEW. The opening address will be made by Ms Dace Veidmane, the Third Secretary of the Latvian Embassy in Germany.
The exhibition will display twelve works which will be supplemented with information on the Latvian Academy of Art and the historical links between the NGBK and art life in Latvia. As part of the RigaREVIEW project, discussion will be initiated on art as a means of communication. To this end, the NGBK has offered its premises to the Latvian art students as a platform for presentation of their answers.
The exhibition has been organized by the Latvian and German Culture Capital Foundations in co-operation with the NGBK, RealismusStudio, the Organization of German Art Associations (ADKV), and the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art and Design.
The contemporary art exhibition will be open in Berlin until 22 April.
