Latvian and Russian Prime Ministers sign Latvia-Russia border agreement

 

Finland welcomes the signing of the Latvia-Russia Border Treaty, which is also important for the European Union as it concerns the Union's external border.

In his Statement, Finland's Foreign Minister Erki Tuomioja expresses the hope that the Treaty will contribute to the overall development of relations between the two countries. Finland also hopes that both countries will ratify the Treaty without delay.
