Latvian Embassy in Vienna participates in celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome

On 25-26 March 2007, the Latvian Embassy in Vienna will participate in the celebrations in Austria and Slovakia devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.

On 25 March, as part of the Rally through EU Embassies, the Latvian Embassy will have an open day. Embassy staff members will acquaint those interested with information about Latvia, travel opportunities and the work of the Embassy. Visitors will have the opportunity to view an exhibition of paintings by the Latvian artist Andris Vitolins.

Open Days in Vienna will be hosted by all the embassies of the EU member states, the Federal Chancellery of Austria, the Austrian Foreign Ministry, the Representation of the European Commission, and the Information Office of the European Parliament.

On 26 March in Bratislava, as part of the celebration TOGETHER - a European Union Stand in the Heart of Bratislava, the Latvian Embassy in Austria will present an information stand with information materials also provided in the Slovak language. The materials have been prepared in co-operation with Mrs Zoja Kane's family in Latvia. Video films about Latvia will be screened as part of the presentation of the European countries.
