Screening in Toronto of Latvian film Lote from the Village of Inventors

On 9 June 2007, the Latvian-Estonian joint production of the animated film Lote from the Village of Inventors will be presented at the European Film Festival in Toronto. The film has already received public acclaim in North America.

The screening of the film Lote from the Village of Inventors at the festival was organized with the support of Mr Imants Purvs, Latvia's Honorary Consul in Ontario. The Latvian Embassy in Canada provided support in preparation of English subtitles for the film.

The Latvian Embassy in Canada also expresses its appreciation to the National Film Centre of Latvia and the film studio Rija for their contribution to the screening of the Latvian film in Canada.

The European Film Festival is now being held for the third consecutive year. This year the festival, under the title Eh! Y meet the Europeans!, will offer viewers the newest European films.
