Latvian Ambassador to Canada to award Order of the Three Stars

On 14-15 April 2007, in Toronto, the Latvian Ambassador to Canada, Atis Sjanits, will attend the annual general meeting of the Council of the Latvian National Federation in Canada (LNFC).

Ambassador Sjanits will address the participants of the meeting and will award the Order of the Three Stars to two Latvians living in Canada.

The Three-Star Order will be presented to the LNFC Chairman of the Board, Martins Sausins, and to Mr Andris Palejs, an engineer who has headed the Latvian Civil Engineers' Union in Canada for several years. The awarding ceremony will be followed by a reception in honour of both recipients of the award.

As part of the annual meeting of the Latvian National Federation in Canada, the Montreal Latvian Centre will hold a Latvian folklore evening with a performance of the Montreal Latvian dance group Ackups and the choir Atbalss.
