Foreign Ministries of Latvia and China hold political consultations [13 Mar 2006]

From 14 to 18 March 2006, political consultations between the foreign ministries of Latvia and China will take place in Beijing, the capital city of China. It is envisaged that the issues discussed at these consultations will include aspects of bilateral cooperation with the main focus being on cooperation in the areas of economy and transit.  At these talks, the diplomats will also deal with regional policy, the UN reform, and other international policy issues. The State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Normans Penke will head the Latvian delegation.

It is planned that the delegation will also visit Shanghai and meet with the city administration. Visits are also scheduled to the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce, the innovations centre, the high-technology park and other companies. There will be separate meetings between delegation members and Latvians residing in Shanghai, Nanking and Hanjou.
