Communiqué on establishment of diplomatic relations between Latvia and the Republic of Guyana signed in New York [17 Mar 2005]

On 16 March 2005, at 9:30 New York time, a communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Latvia and the Republic of Guyana was signed at Latvia's permanent mission to the UN in New York. 

The communiqué was signed by temporary Charge d'Affaires to the UN in New York, Aiga Liepina, on behalf of Latvia, and by temporary Charge d'Affaires to the UN, George Wilfred Talbot, on behalf of the Republic of Guyana. 

After signing the communiqué, both parties agreed to continue work towards developing cooperation between the two countries and their missions. The possibility of mutual support in the elections of UN structures, as well as preparation for the UN 2005 summit was discussed.
