Latvian embassy in Berlin presents a poetry book, "Riga udeni. Riga im Wasser" [15 Mar 2005]

On 15 March 2005, the Latvian embassy in Berlin is presenting a poetry book, "Riga udeni. Riga im Wasser" (Riga in the water), published by Tapals. The book compiles Latvian poetry of different generations in Latvian and German, featuring classical authors such as Rainis, Aspazija, Fricis Barda, and well-known 20th century Latvian authors such as Olga Lisovska, Mara Zalite, Eva Martuza, Knuts Skujenieks, and Maris Melgalvis. 

The book's compiler is Gundega Zehauza, a Latvian living in Berlin. Attending the opening of the book are poet Mara Zalite and poetry translator Urzula Velica, a Latvia-born white German now living in Germany.
