On 9 February in Brussels, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, will meet with Stefano Manservisi, Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO), and Monique Pariat, Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO).

The meetings will look at how the small EU Member States can become more involved in various EU-funded development cooperation projects. The topics to be discussed also include the issue of the possibilities for Latvian businesses to contribute to the implementation of the new EU External Investment Plan. Views will then be shared on EU instruments for financing external action after 2020 in the context of the EU’s next Multiannual Financial Framework.
