The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the terrorist attack in the Afghan capital Kabul on 28 December that killed at least 40 people and left more than 80 others injured. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to all Afghan people.
The responsibility for the terrorist attack has been claimed by the Da’esh group, which is trying to destabilise the security situation in Afghanistan and thwart the Afghan government’s efforts to advance peace and stability in the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines that terrorism cannot be tolerated in any of its manifestations. This act of terror reaffirms the need for promoting cooperation among the countries worldwide to prevent the spread of terrorism.
